Something that you always got to have if you are playing down low is "rebounding". You got to have that during a game, if you are not a good rebounder then are probably not going to play you in the paint. Whatever position you play on the court you, you got to know how to rebound. For the basics of rebounding, I am going to show you, I am going to take you down here to the rim. Whenever I am trying to rebound, I always want to keep my eye on exactly where the ball is, I do not want to take my eye off the ball at anytime, once the ball hits the rim and it is on its way down I want to already spotted my man on the court that I am supposed to be boxing out. We are going to talk about boxing a little bit later, but after I box the man out, I want to make sure I am looking for the ball, always looking for the ball relentlessly. No matter where the ball is I am after it. So, if the ball comes off the rim, I want to always rebound, bring the ball to my chest and turn around protecting the ball so I can see where I need to pass it to and where I need to get the ball to. So, you have different points in the game, you might have to run after the ball to get the rebound, get the loose ball. But if it is coming off the backboard or the rim, you always want to keep your eye on the ball and try your best to reach up as high as you can and grab it with two hands. You want to grab the ball with two hands when you can, sometimes you can not, but you want to grab the ball with two hands tight, so no one can get it. Grab with two hands, come down and look, survey the court to find out where you need to pass it or whether you need to advance the ball. There you have it, "Rebounding".
