When we’re under sail and don’t have our engine on, we’re classified as a sailboat, motorboats generally must keep clear of sailboats. A couple of exception, if I’m on my sailboat and I’m going faster than a motorboat, I have to keep clear of the motorboat that I’m overtaking. Sometimes there’s power boats, large tankers and freighters, big fishing boats, tugboats, pulling barges, sailboats have to keep clear. So there is a hierarchy of rules that say who has to keep clear of who. We need to be ready for a motorboats weight, we sail through that motorboat’s weight and you saw how the boat bounced around a little bit, not a problem, the boat is designed to do that and it will sail right over the waves, but as it bounces around any equipment or hardware that we have laying around the boat may get knocked off of a shelf or something like that. So part of getting a boat ready to get sailing is to look around the boat and make sure we don’t have important equipment laying out on a shelf or some place where it could fall off and get damaged.
