"VINCENT JAMAL: Hi, I'm Vincent on behalf of Expert Village. Now that we've gotten Brian in an explosive manner off the ball and we've got Chris' backpedaling. Let's walk it out. Brian is going to break down and he's going to take an angle about 45 degrees, and this is called the post pattern because where he's running is at the goal post. So, go ahead and cut it in a little bit, Brian. And now, what he's got is he's got an inside technique and Chris is closing in on him but by this time, the ball should be delivered. So, go ahead and let's bring it back. Now, the post route is a very essential route because if you can split the defenders deep--a lot of times, there'll be two safeties--it's wide open. So, what Brian really wants to do--half speed, set, hike--is boom. Get to that point as soon as possible. Now, what Brian will do also on his cut is once he makes his cut, the head comes around and he's looking for the ball. The ball should be delivered almost before his cut is made, and Brian's foot speed is what's going to get him that touchdown. So, let's go ahead and do that again. Set, hike. Bang and there it is--head around, hands up, ready to catch the ball. Now, what Brian will also do, he will not cross over the middle of the field. What he's doing is he is separating his half of the field from the other half. And what he wants to make sure he does is not cross over, not too deep. The angle should be almost directly at the goal post which means you're still moving up field, adjusting, looking for the ball and advancing once you catch it."
