VINCENTJAMAL: I'm Vincent on behalf of Expert Village. Now, I know you'll get tired running all these routes but you don't want to take the play off. But what you can do--rather than throwing a full blown block sometimes once the ball has been delivered someplace else after your decoy route--is just hinder your defender. So go ahead and run out. We'll do a small, slow ten yard out. Set, hike. And we'll emulate that I've caught the ball right here. Now, once Chris turns his pursuit, all Brian wants to do, as I'm advancing, is he wants to get in front of Chris as I'm advancing...and just keep him there. That's all he's got to do, just keep him there. It doesn't have to be a full blown block. What he really wants to do is just slow up his acceleration to catch up with me and allow me as much free time to get going as possible. I've got ten other guys to deal with. If we can get all of our guys to at least hinder half of the guys in the defensive front, then I've got a great chance of getting into the end zone. So let's try that one more time. And actually I'll work it from the inside so you spread it out as your decoy route, and we'll just walk it through. Go. So he's run is out of pattern. Bang. I've turned. I've caught the ball here. Now, he knows that I've got the ball and I'm turning upfield, and as he advances, that's all he does--he just--he hinders. He hinders his progress into getting me. It's a great way for him to not have to exert too much more energy but not take a play off at the same time.
