"My name is Tres Tew; I am an instructor here at Yeshua' Ryu Martial Arts. On behalf of Expert Village, I'm going to be showing you how to defend yourself with open hands against either rifles or shotguns. Now you may come across someone with a gun who knows what they are doing. They have told you to put your hands on the back of your head; this is supposedly to keep you from attempting to disarm them. Now what you want to do in this situation is turn, just like this and this will be very fast. You're shouldering the gun out of the way at the same time you step, from here you're going to release and grab right here. If you can maybe push back on their shoulder, kind of off balance them just a little bit as you come in and elbow. Now from here if you can see in the mirror, what I'm going to do I'm just going to push the gun just like so. Because that elbow has caused him to take a step back and release with that hand, so I'm pushing here and from here I can come either into the ribs or the back of the leg. Then with the barrel, I can come to the head or I can just push; like this, now I have him at gunpoint. Now I want to stay a pretty good distance away from him because he may catch on to what I did and try the same thing. So until the cops arrive we're just going to keep our distance and tell him what to do. So that's one way to defend yourself against someone who has a gun to the back of your head."
