"Hi. My name is Tres Tew. I'm an instructor at Yeshua's Ryu Martial Arts and on behalf of Expert Village, I'm going to be teaching you about improvised weapons. Now, there may be a few improvised weapons that you can come up with that don't fall under any specific category. I have here an electric soldering iron. This can be used, obviously to puncture, as well as to wrap and choke. Simply wrap the cord around your hands a few times and you are ready to go. You can either take and swing this out; almost like a flexible weapon with a weight at the end of it. Or, even if it's hot, that would be very effective. If it's still hot, you can puncture in, you can take it and use it to wrap up and puncture in. Also, you can combine two different things. A ski mask, or a glove or something of that nature can be used almost like a shield. A rock like object can be combined with that and you suddenly have a swung weapon that you can swing around and wield and smack an attacker in the face with. This is an ice scraper for scraping the ice off of your windshield. This can be used as almost like a stick-like object, but it has a blade-type object on the end. So it is similar to an edged weapon as well as a stick-like weapon. Also, this right here can be used as a distraction. As you are bringing it across the face, it just feels weird. So, those are a few things that don't take on one specific aspect of a type of weapon, but they take many or you can combine it with something else, and they take on the aspect of a weapon. Just make sure that when you are looking for an improvised weapon to defend yourself with that you are thinking creatively (but also, you want to think realistically). You can't pick up...you can't bend down to take your shoelace off to use it as a flexible weapon. You don't have enough time if someone has pulled a knife on you, okay? So just make sure that you are thinking creatively and realistically. "
