" Hi! I’m Steve Jimenez with Fit and Fearless Krav Maga. I am going to go over self-defense scenarios such as bear hugs, or a possible lifting off the ground and being moved or taken from one place to another, or possibly just being dumped to the ground. We will go over self defense scenarios that will cover these areas. “Base out” is the most important thing in every single bear hug defense that we do. So that is the most important, so if anything, if you’re going to practice these, the main thing, practice the bear hugs over and over and over and over again. Basically all it is is a squatting. It’s either a squat like this, or it’s going to be a squat like this where you actually spread your legs and you are already setting up into a fighting stance, so you can move forward with combatives. From here, again, I am going to demonstrate with Marissa. As soon as I come in, boom, she bases out. Look at that; that’s perfect. My arms cannot even reach behind her to be able to pull her hips in. She is blocking my hips from coming forward and as I come forward to try to continue to fight, you’re going to drive in with a knee to the groin or to the mid section. "
