" Hi! I am Steve “The Dragon” Jimenez again with Heath Jones. In this segment, I am going to go ahead and demonstrate the elbow strikes. We have several weapons available to us: our fist, palm heel strikes, elbows, head butts, knees and kicks. Elbows and knees are inside close quarter combat techniques. When I come straight up or when I use the knee or the elbows, I am going to use a matter where I am going to apply my hips. Now because the knees and the elbows are closer to the trunk of the body, which is where your power comes, this also makes the techniques a lot more powerful, a lot more devastating. There can be bone crushing, there can be skin cutting, knock your teeth out, you know what have you. So these are good techniques for people who are not may be as strong or as big or as their assailant. So from here, demonstrating, I am coming straight across here, striking with my elbow as I come straight across I want to make sure my fist is either clenched tight here or clenched in a fist. I'm going to make contact just below the tip of my elbow, right here. As I come straight across, my body rotates. Rotation of the body is very important. Every technique that we do is not just a certain technique it is in every movement. So from here I must utilize as much power as I can so I can generate movement by pushing off here. My contact, point of contact can be here to the sternum again. May be the attacker is a lot taller than I am. It can be to the groin from underground. It can be right here to the throat upward if he is tall and I can reach out straightforward and it could be right to the face crushing inside, taking his lips right to the back of his head. "
