"Hello, this is Steven Vargas with Expert Village. In this series we'll be going over how to create an exercise routine while on vacation. In this clip we will go over how to perform calf raises using the staircase. You can do single leg calf raises or you can do them both together. What you do again is find a staircase, bring the balls of the feet to the edge of the step. You want to drop the heels as low as you can to get a good stretch and to the calf muscle and then proceed to come up as high as you can on the toes engaging the calf's. Drop them to get a good stretch coming up on the toes to get a good contraction. A variation to this exercise would be a single leg calf raise. What you do here is you'll take one leg, wrap it around and perform the exercise the same way you did before. Dropping the heel coming up on the toe, drop the heel and take it up. You can use the rail here for stability looking for a nice good contraction in the calf muscle."
