"O'kay in this clip we are going to be doing the knees up or it is almost like a simulated marching in place and we have a couple different options if you are at a different strength level. I will show you the basic and then I will show you these extra options that we can use as we get stronger seniors. O'kay so I am sitting in an upright position, back nice and straight, you are going to lift the leg up, bring the knee up nice and high, keeping the back nice and straight. This is going to help strengthen the quadriceps muscles. It is also going to help strengthen your back muscles, strengthening your hips. Now you can have your hands on top of your thighs or you can just let them hang to the side. I have a lot of senior clients who aren't very mobile so we do a lot of these exercises seated. Now if that is a little bit too easy for you we have a couple different options here. You can take your resistance band and of course you can tie it around your thighs to provide some additional resistance with this exercise. Of course we also have this flat resistance band that you can tie as well and of course my hoop. I love this one this one is great. Now you can do this standing and if you do this standing we also have exercise cuff that you can put around the ankles. O'kay now of course you can do this without the exercise cuffs. Now what you can do is hold on to your base, back nice and straight and your knees are going to come up. You can see how this is going to provide some more resistance making this a little more challenging. Bring the knees up as high as you feel comfortable watching the position so you don't hurt your back. Remember you can do this without the extra cuffs but these just provide a little extra challenge beyond just marching in place."
