"Some of the common mistakes you may make learning how to fakie 180 kick flip varial is basically having to do with rolling in the fakie position. You don't roll in the fakie position as often as you roll forward, so it's going to require a little more specific timing and balance. So, just spend a little more time getting used to rolling in a fakie position and you'll feel much more comfortable when you're ready to fakie kick flip varial. The other problem you may experience is combining the flip with the shove-it. A lot of times when you are first learning this trick it's hard to get enough flip and you'll land with the board landing upside down. Like this right here. You'll set up in a kick flip position with maybe too much or too little foot and end up half flipping the board and landing with it upside down. As long as you've got your balance right you can test this and learn how to do it more. One tip I have for you is testing the different heights of where your foot works the best. Sometimes when you're rolling faster you may want to put it further up. That way the board flips slower and you can compensate for that speed. But, while you're learning it slowly, like you should be, sometimes it's better to put your foot back a little bit further and test it like that and be able to get all of the flip-its need to get it all the way around and land cleanly in the fakie position."
