"With all the shots in racquetball, the first thing you want to do is perfect the way you swing your racket. A lot of people make the mistake, because they've played some tennis, or they've played some ping pong, or they've played some squash. They fact is that racquetball has its own unique swing. Tennis, everything is kind of straight, the wrist doesn't really snap, it's all straight up and down, a very nice finesse stroke. Racquetball, make this L, straight up and down. You've got straight, straight. You want to lead in with your elbow, come all the way across and snap your wrist. The snap is what's key in racquetball and that's what separates this sport from all these other racket sports. Up here, in, huge element is to bring your elbow first. The elbow comes in, comes across, snaps, and the follow through is huge. If you try to stop your follow through, injuries can happen in here. You'll tear all kinds of different things in your shoulder, not good. So, here, in with the elbow, snap your wrist, follow through. Always keep your head down and watch the ball until the very end. Very common mistake is to get to about here, before you've even made contact, you take your eyes off the contact and you look up at the shot before you take it. So, in with the elbows, snap your wrist, keep your head down, follow through, then look up. That's the basic swing of the forehand shot in racquetball."
