"This is a ceiling ball. A very effective shot. Mainly known as a defensive shot in the sport of racquetball. You hit the ball, it hits the ceiling first, then the front wall, bounces and goes extremely high to the back of the court. The reason why you wouldn't want to hit a ceiling ball is if you're battling, and battling, and battling, for center court which is the best place to be, this is home base in the sport of racquetball. Again, a very effective way to play racquetball is to get your opponent out of center court. One of the best way to do that is with a ceiling ball. So, you hit a ceiling ball to either one of these corners that will cause your opponent to go and retrieve that while you go and take center court. So, a ceiling ball looks just like this. Very simple, very easy, the sport of racquetball now is very, very aggressive. Not a lot of ceiling balls because everybody's screaming shots at 180 miles an hour. The game in the 70's and 80's was just back to back ceiling balls, finessing their opponents out of the center court. So, a ceiling ball can be very effective in the sport of racquetball"
