on 11/23/2008 You forgot to mention that the ball has to bounce between the solid line (serve box) and the dotted line, since that is what determines whether
a) the ball will bounce back from the wall to be setup for a cross court kill shot
b) the ball will go chest high to the opponent (recommended)

"Now we're going to discuss the Lob Serve which is the not so aggressive serve as much as the Drive Serve is. The Lob Serve can be just as effective because it can put your opponent on the defense by getting them trapped in these corners. What happens is, the Lob Serve, if done right, will get trapped up in the corner where they'll have to hit a shot from up here which is not in their wheel house or their most aggressive zone which is right in here where they can get down and swing hard. You want to get them trapped up in the corner so that they have to flip up a ceiling ball or some sort of a set up. You can aggressively put them on the defense right at the beginning again. The Lob Serve, I always like to think of, if I had an egg on my racquet, I'd have to lift that egg without having it fall off my racquet up over a fence. Follow me, the egg and you lift. You never snap your wrist like you would on a Drive Serve or any other shot in Racquetball. This is the one time when you keep this completely solid and you just basically go with that motion here. Lifting the egg over the fence. Right that down. Here goes. It's nice and high, it's stuck up against the wall like wallpaper. A very very effective serve. That's the Lob Serve."
