"Hi. My name is Sheryl McGlochlin. I'm with crazysheryl.com. Welcome to expertvillage.com. We want to talk about how the snowshoe actually works and in what kind of terrain it works the best. The snowshoe, unlike a downhill ski (a downhill ski does not allow your heel to come out)... but this snowshoe will allow your heel, your foot to come out. It has that little movement where it can go back and forth and it will allow you to walk, and especially, again, there's a grip on your toe which is so important. It makes the ball of your foot be able to feel like Spiderman and really grip. The weight of this shoe is distributed enough so it will keep you from sinking deep into the snow. It's a much larger surface area to be able to walk on, which is why the snowshoes work so well. You'll still sink a little bit in the snow. You won't be walking on powder. But, it definitely distributes your weight in a much larger area. And that's how you can use a snowshoe."
