"We're going to first talk about passing now. Passing is an essential part of the lacrosse game. If you're a team that passes well, you've definitely got an advantage because passing is the fastest way to move the ball rather than just running it. To start off, in girl's lacrosse, passing kind of looks like a catapult, if you will, so if you can just keep that image while you're trying to learn this it'll help you out. But you want to make sure that you've got a firm grip with your bottom hand on the stick and you're going to step with your opposite foot of your top hand. So I have my right hand up top, and I have my left foot. I'm going to step, I'm going to move out my elbow of my bottom hand and I'm going to follow through with the head of the stick and my top hand is a little bit more loose, so my bottom hand doesn't move. I move the leg and I let my top hand slide down a little bit more. And you're going to follow through to your target, so if I was throwing directly at you guys I would step and follow straight through and that's going to give the ball a little bit more direction as you go. So, there's different ways to moderate your pass, which we'll talk about next but you're just going to want to practice this motion. You can practice both hands so you get really good at it, have accurate passes. Alright, I've got the lovely Melissa here to help me demonstrate some passes. We're going to do our best to try to show you all the things I just talked about, all the different steps but we're a little close, so we're not going to completely follow through with our sticks because that would make the ball go too hard and it would hurt if we didn't catch it. Here we go, you're stepping, you're extending your elbow and you're following through. Stepping with the opposite foot, stepping with the opposite foot, elbow, follow through. And you can switch hands, which you're going to step with the opposite foot still but it's going to be the different foot because you're on a different hand."
