"Hello! My name is Sid Nelson, master instructor in Martial Arts. I'm representing expertvillage.com. Okay, the next area we're going to introduce to you in the class is strikes. The knife hand strike, the hammer fist strike, the palm strike, and the back fist will all be strikes that you'll learn in the beginner's class starting with the knife hand strike. First, we have to make the fingers come tightly together and the thumb locked to the side. Create a sharp knife edge along the side of the palm. This hand will go then. We'll place the palm to the ear or neck. We'll practice for the sake in a back stance. Again, this arm will be placed on the top. Elbow together and we'll begin the technique by pulling out the elbows and then extend the arm. At the end of the technique once again, we'll twist at the wrists. Striking the target will be the knife hand edge. The hammer fist strike, we'll start it in a similar way. We'll just simply close the fist and place it to the ear or neck. Again, pull using the elbows first. At the end of the technique, twist at the wrists. The striking surface of the hammer fist again, will be the bottom part of the fist. On the palm strike we'll use the reverse hand. A palm will simply flex the wrist back. Bring in the fingers and the thumb for safety, as you'll be striking with the palm heel of the wrist. Place it just like a punch and we can strike. That is a palm strike. The next strike we'll use a back fist. We're going to use the back of the hand to strike the target. We'll start like you're listening to a watch. Place the back of the wrist onto the ear or neck. This strike begins on the top. Again, pulling out the elbows, then extend the arm, and at the very end as usual, twist the wrists. If you want to add some energy in your techniques, use your yell."
