Video Transcript

"On behalf of Expert Village, I'm Stephen Koepfer at New York Combat SAMBO in New York city, and today I'm going to be demonstrating beginning SAMBO. In this clip, I'm going to show you the basic Achilles lock or ankle lock from your opponents open guard. We're going to assume that you've got his guard open and you are able to hold his leg like this. What's very important is that you slide back you put your wrist bone directly under his Achilles, not on the calf. Very important to slide like this to get your bone into the proper place on his leg. From here, post up. You're going to sit back by sliding your non posted foot underneath yourself. As you sit back, you're going to slide your arm down to his Achilles. Turn him to the side. Control his leg by stepping over. Elbow in, turn. Now I'll do one time. Get here, control the leg."
