"On behalf of Expert Village, I'm Stephen Koepfer at New York Combat SAMBO in New York city, and today I'm going to be demonstrating beginning SAMBO. In this clip, I'm going to demonstrate the basic knee bar. We're going to start in a cross body position. It's very common for your partner or your opponent to put their leg up in cross body. This is their defense from my stepping into a mount position. The basic steps to a knee bar. You're going to control this leg by over wrapping grabbing his thigh. He can't escape. From here, you're going to control his arm or his neck. From either of these grips he can lean this way. You're going to lean on him and put your knee up cross the belly. This knee will slide between his legs and you're going to fold towards his free leg this side. Squeezing your knees tight, his knees should be above your groin, this in step on your shoulder and then you extend. Ok in real time."
