"Next segment I'd like to talk you about are some fears that might keep you from wanting to start to play tennis. A lot of people take their image a little too seriously. They might feel like they'll look like an idiot if they start out here playing hitting the ball over the wall or they don't know what to wear. Basically, if you're a guy if you a pair of sneakers, a t-shirt, some shorts, you can go out buy a 20 dollar racket and play tennis. If you're a girl, what to wear you might be a little self-conscious about it. Basically, as long as you have a shirt and some shorts and a descent pair of sneakers a place to keep the tennis balls when you're playing you can play. There's nothing to be embarrassed about. Everybody starts somewhere so let's go. Now, if you find you like tennis enough when you go out and try it, a pair a shoes that are good to buy are a pair that have a flat sole. Ask your shoe salesman and they'll lead you to a nice tennis shoe. This is a K-Swiss with a nice flat sole. When you watch tennis on TV, you hear a lot of the squeaking when it's a hard surface court. That's from the shoe and basically it's the best traction for the surface. When I started playing as a kid, I just threw whatever sneakers I had and went to the local tennis court and played. Really there's not excuses to get out there and play. It's an excellent exercise and you get to play with a friend, most importantly. If you find somebody at the level that you, it makes it even more wonderful. A more wonderful experience because A; you don't have somebody hitting spikes at you all the time and you don't have to dodge balls, and B; you're playing somebody and being competitive. You can have little challenges to see who wins, who does better. It's a lot of fun. I play right now with an older man and I'm kind of teaching him how to play. 55 years old, hasn't played in 30 years. Picked up the tennis racket. We've been playing once a week for 4 months. We're playing pretty competitive now. So, nothing should hold you back from wanting to play."
