"Another great variation of the varial kick flip 180 is to simply bring the trick into a fakie varial flip 180. Pretty much the same rules apply for the fakie varial flip as the one rolling forward except when you're rolling fakie, of course your weight is distributed over the back of the board. So sometimes this will actually help to build momentum to get the shove it. So you got to remember if you're building momentum to get the shove it then you're going to have to flip a little bit less. So the fakie varial flip is much like setting up for the kick flip varial, only you're rolling backwards. So you'll set up in the kick flip varial position, flip with the front foot and shove it with the back foot, continue flipping and the catch the board, land and then continue rolling away fakie. So you start with your body in the fakie position and you end with the body in the fakie position. One helpful tip is to sometimes people start with their tail in the front. The reason for this is that the tail is sometimes a little bit steeper and the tail is also sometimes a little bit wider, so it helps you get the shove it and the kick flip in the same motion together, and that's how you fakie varial kick flip."
