Extending the Trot: Free Horseback Riding Lessons

" Hi my name Sarah Stetner I'm an expert horse rider on behalf of Expert Village. In this video I'm just showing you advanced step to English riding for equitation. So I just asked him to trot and I did pick up the correct diagonal. As you can see I am posting. Now remember when you do trot you do want to keep a continues speed a little bit well way faster then your normal western jog but I would show this is like a really good paste and speed for trotting English. It is not to fast and it is not to slow. So now I'm going to go ahead and ask him to extend the trot which this takes a lot of leg on my part. I'm going to kind of lift him up. Tighten up his rein and ask him to extend to where you would see him to what I call floating. Floating is really pretty he is going to out stretch his legs. I'm going to go ahead and ask him to extend his trot right now. Just tighten up his reins and go ahead and squeeze with your legs. Right there he is floating. I'm really pushing and going ahead and really trying to pick him up. So that is the extended trot."
