How to Trot Your Horse over Jumps and Get Comfortable Jumping

" Hi my name is Sarah Stetner I'm a expert horse rider on behalf of Expert Village and in this video I'm just showing you how to jump. We went ahead and started with trotting over the poles which is the first step in jumping. You want to get your horses foot up and make him go. This next step that I'm doing is trotting over the jump which it can take a lot more time. Like if your horse progresses trotting over the poles the first day that is fine. But, he has been jumping a little bit longer. So he is going to go ahead and move to the next step but, if you want to do the next step the next day and progress a little bit at a time that is okay. So this is trotting over the jump. I'm going to go ahead and get my two point position so I will show you notice that my horse is going to look at the jump before he goes over it. See his ears are already up. That happens that does happen. I didn't give him enough enough momentum and enough head to look at the jump. So I am going to do that one more time. So just like that that is jumping I came out of my saddle."
