"Hi I'm Schell Michael here with Expert Village and today we're going to be doing a series on how to surf. Some paddle techniques to go over: Everyone has there own way to do it, but the standard way is The Crawl. You just go one after another is the best way. Just keep your hands closed making little cups so that you can get more mile for your energy which is better. The more you keep your hands open and your just shallow, not digging in that deep your just going to waste a lot of time and energy. Just dig in, just make sure your totally going for it. Some people go two at a time and I don't really recommend that way because I feel as your paddling, and then there's a pause, your paddling, then there's a pause. If you do like one at a time, it's really consistent and your kind of just flowing. When your catching a wave, some people try to go like this and it's almost like a stop, go, stop go. If you find that effective for you, go right ahead and do that if your going to catch the wave. The most consistent, I would say is just doing one after another, hands cupped, digging in deep and just going for it."
