"Hi, I'm Schell Michael. I'm here with Expert Village and today we're going to be doing a series on how to surf. So now we'll talk a little bit more about accessories to accessorize your wet suit. And no ladies, we're not talking about jewelry, we're talking about your second best friend, the booties. This will definitely keep your feetsies warm. These are very very important. They protect you from the reef in case you want to jump off your board and they also protect you from getting frostbite on your toes. Pretty much after you get your wet suit on, you'll get all geared up, you'll feel comfortable, you just want to take your straps off here, you'll slip your booties on and you'll tighten everything up and your wet suit will then go over the booties and it'll just come down to your ankles. So it's kind of just like almost like a full onesie after you get these on. Keeps them nice and toasty and you can actually feel the board under your feet, which is a good thing. Also, we have something called a rash guard as well. If you are in the warmer waters and you don't want to wear a wet suit, this is great because it's going to protect your stomach from rubbing against the board, it's going to protect the insides here, from rubbing along the surfboard, the inside of your arms. Just overall, in general, it protects from the sun, which is great. You can get a lot of these with the UV ray protection so you're not going to get burned. I recommend the long sleeve ones over the short sleeve or the tank tops. I don't really like the short sleeve ones because you can still get a rash under your arm and it just leaves more open for that. So when you have the full sleeve it just protects everything, it's great. With these, it's kind of the same thing as a wet suit; you want it to be more on the tighter side because once you get out there in this water it will stretch out a little bit. You never want to be swimming around and it's just kind of floating on your body. You want it to be snug, you want it to be secure, but you want it to be comfortable. A few other accessories are your gloves and your cap; it's like a wet suit cap that keeps your head warm. Sometimes they have a little bill in the front where it can, you know block the sun."
