"Hi I'm Schell Michael, I'm here with Expert Village and today we're going to be doing a series on how to surf. Already, now it's time to pick your location of where you're going to surf. Your best bet would probably be asking around, once again, word of mouth is the best and just figuring out where some place where someone can begin. You definitely wouldn't want to jump in with the big dogs and just start you know, heading out there, and try to get in the middle of everything. For one, you can get in someone's way. Someone can get very upset, especially the people who have been surfing for a long time. Don't want a bunch of beginners you know, getting in front of their waves. So, I'd say, location is very important. You want to pick somewhere that probably doesn't have a lot of reef, a lot of under toe, a lot of current, anything that's going to get you into some kind of sticky situation where you're not comfortable. A good way to find a surf spot, would also be going to a local surf shop and heading in there. Usually, a lot of surf shops will have instructors, or they'll know of an instructor and then they can head you into that right direction of where exactly would be a safe spot for a beginner and those people in surf shops they're usually pretty nice so don't be afraid to ask them as many questions as you want, I'm sure they'll help you out."
