"SCOTT BROWDER: One thing we talked about before was hitting the ball to different positions on the table. I forgot to talk about hitting it either deep or close to the net, it's very effective. Bringing your opponent in close to make a shot and then jamming him back hitting it towards the back of the table so that he has to race back and hit a shot and then keep moving it. It's a very important as far as ball position on the table, you have to switch things up, make things difficult for your opponent so that you can keep him on his toes and hopefully get an easy point. So what we're going to talk about is hitting and being able to hit a shot short. And a lot of times I use a chop shot to get a short shot as opposed to hit at top spin because as soon as you hit at top spin the ball is going to jump towards your opponent and it basically is going to make a short shot not as effective. So you want to be able to hit a chop shot with that type of shot. So as an example if the ball is coming up, I want to hit it just barely over the net so I want to just chop and basically all that you going to do is you're going to hit flat with the paddle and you're just going to have the top of your paddle fall off of the ball. So the ball coming, you just hit that little chop, so that then you can barely try to get it barely over the net with a little bit of under spin on it, and you can even angle it also which will make it even more effective but you're just trying to drop the ball over especially if the guy is at the back of the table where he's just hit a shot from back here and his back against the wall maybe you drop the ball over the net it's going to be a tough play for him. And then again hitting the ball deep you can set the ball--you can set it up by hitting the ball just with a kind of a nice easy stroke hit the ball deep so that it'll set up the short shot. So you want to be able to set him up by sending him to the back part of the table and then come up with your little drop shot in that way it keeps him guessing and hopefully will be effective with that."

on 1/26/2009 Scott is, again, trying to apply tennis technique to table tennis, which is incorrect, which can be seen in the video as he hits the net or hits long, high ball multiple times during the demonstration.
