on 1/23/2009 This person does not know what he is doing. He is serving illegally. In the ITTF international rules you are not allowed to serve with your hand under the plane of the table surface. You are not allowed to "cup" the ball, but must present the ball in the middle of your flat palm before the toss. You also have to toss the ball up a minimum of 6 inches and the ball must come down and not be hit by the server at the top of the bounce. This person is serving from under the table, not tossing the ball up enough and cupping the ball. These videos should be removed because this person is no expert and is actually giving out false information. He looks self taught to me.

on 1/13/2009 In my opinion (I’m a former professional table tennis player), Scott doesn't posses the expertise or skills to give advice on table tennis related topics, though he appears to be very passionate about the sport.

"SCOTT BROWDER: Now with the slice serve you can also add the direction which will again keep your man guessing. So we talked about spin, the slice, you want to be able to with any of these spin serves, you want to be able to position the ball in the place where the guy is going to be hopefully guessing the wrong position that you're going to hit it. Maybe you're serving a lot to his forehand now all of a sudden he's starting to catch on that the ball is mostly going to his forehand, you want to be able to obviously move the ball to his backhand so that it works both sides of him and he is not, again, not knowing where the ball is going to go. So we can do the same thing with all our spin shots position. And one place that a lot of people are afraid to hit the ball is at--directly at the person. To me one of the hardest shots to get back is the serve that comes into your body when you're expecting it to either be forehand or backhand, the ball jams you in the waist and you're trying to get your body out of the position to be able to hit the shot, is a very difficult shot needless to say. So don't be afraid to hit the ball at the person also. So we're going to try the cut serve or slice serve with a position. So I'm going to go to the forehand court, again keeping it low to the net, and then I'm going to go move it to the forehand--the backhand side. Again you have to keep your body position low, slice through the ball, make sure that it gets over the net but with the slice serve you have to really be careful because it will want to float on you, you'll end up missing the table if you put too much on it. So you gotta find that nice happy medium with that shot."
