"Hi, this is Sean Hobson and right now we're talking about how to run the motion. We know that when we make the first pass to the wing, we want to set screens. So what we're going to focus on right now is how to set these screens properly and we want to also talk about adjustments if the defense tries to cheat off of the screen. So let's go ahead and walk through the very first part of the offense. So wings pop up, we get it to the wings. Now we're going to screen away. Now, when the guards screen away, this guy wants to step down and set up his screen. This guy wants to watch at how the defense is going to be working. If the defender is playing straight up on his man, then he can screen him straight. If this guy is playing inside and is cheating or he's trying to jump the ball to the inside, what we can do is set a "flair screen" where he's going to turn his back to the offense player and he's going to set a screen on me and that's going to get this guy open for a skip pass in the offense. So, that's one way we can adjust there. Now, it's important for our post players, that when they screen, that they don't just screen straight across, straight up. What we want them to do is, we want this post player to either fake top side or bottom side and then we want our post to screen at a little bit of angle. What that's going to create is, that when he steps down low, he's going to come up and curl around my screen and that's going to give him a little bit more room to work down in the post instead of coming straight across. Now that defender is going to have to fight out and around the screen which is going to give him longer to catch the ball and score it on the post. So it's very important to set the right screens when running the motion offense."
