"Hi, this is Sean Hobson. We want to show some drills right now that have to do with dribbling. These are more game-type drills where you're not breaking down the dribble; so much as you are just rehearsing it at game speed. The first dribble we're going to show right here is just what you call the "explosion dribble". We're going to have them work on their strong hand, going down as fast as they can, pushing the ball out in front of them, and running with it, everything staying low. You see how these guys are ready to start? This is called "ready position" or I call it a "3D-position", because they can drive, dish, or drain, from this position right here. So he's down. As he takes off--"boom"--they're going to explode out. They're going to dribble down strong with the right hand, dribble back with their weak hand Ready, go. Good. Now second dribble that we're going to do here is called the "hesitation move". They're going to dribble. When they get to each line--this is called "line dribbling"--when they get to each line, they're going to make a move. So as they come to the line, they're going to slow up. They're going to come up like they're stopping, and then they're going to hesitate and go on through it and explode through it. Ready, go. Good. Good. Bring it on back. Good. The next dribble that we're going to do right here is called a "cross-over". We want to make sure they sail it hard to the right side, then they're going to cross the ball over, keeping it low, and then they're going to finish out with their left hand into the next line. Then they'll cross it back over to the right. These are cross-over?s. Go. Good. Bring it back. Keep your dribbles low. Good. And the last one here is kind of the funniest of all, and that is the "between-the-legs". Again, you want to set it up to the right. Go between your legs low. You never want to go between your legs standing up high. Here we go, between the legs. Go. You notice that at each line, they're switching the ball. If you mess up and if you, if you--actually if you don't mess up, you're really not going hard enough on this drill. So if you mess up, you just run, pick up the ball, and keep in with the drill. This is not necessarily a drill that you want to be perfect on. Because if you're not challenging yourself, then you're going to do it perfectly. So you want to kind of challenge yourself to dribble at your best ability. So this is a game-type dribbling drill we use called "line dribbling"."
