"Hi, this is Sean Hobson and what we want to talk about now is, coming up with some drills that are game type drills, that are going to be good for practicing, not only shooting, but incorporate a lot of other skills in it. This is called rotation shooting and what we're going to do here is, we're going to be working on--if this were in a game, it would be kind of like "curling a screen", but what you're going to be doing is you're going to be working on passing, you're going to be working on catching, you're going to be working on footwork. When you catch the ball, locating where the back board and where the rim are, to make your shot, and obviously at the end, you're going to be working on your shooting. So in rotation shooting, as we walk through this, what's going to happen is, our first shooter is without a ball. The second guy in line over here has a basketball, and the first guy in line over here has a basketball. What's going to happen is, we're going to walk through. Blake's going to curl around, and he's going to have his hands up and he's going to call for the ball and he's going to stop. You see when he catches the ball how he squares his body around and gets it ready to shoot. He doesn't catch here and shoot fading away. He's got to square his body up. Then he's going to make the shot. Once he makes the shot, he's going to get his own rebound and he's going to give it back to the line that from which he came from. As soon as the person right here makes the pass to Blake, go ahead, and show them. He's going to curl out around him, and he's going to the other block to receive the pass back on this side. So once this drill gets going at full speed, you're going to have two players shooting at the same time and you're going to have what they call "rotation shooting". So we're going to have everybody moving around. All right, lets go back to our original lines and lets show them what it looks like real quick. Obviously, we only have four guys here with us today. Normally if you had a whole team, this would go really quick and you would continue to rotate around; but we'll show you what it looks like with four guys. All right go ahead, go. All right, good. So you just continue to do this and what we do is, we'll shoot low block, then we'll take about a half step back and we'll shoot here, then we'll shoot from the elbow, and the last shot is going to be at the three point line. And then if you have enough time in practice, it's good to work yourself back down from three point line here, down mid way, to the low block and then be finished. So if you can, go out and back in. So this is a good drill to go at game speed, to catch the ball, square up and shoot. "
