"Hi, this is Sean Hobson, for Expert Village. What we want to talk about now is an important move you can use called the bull rush. This is especially used when you have a big, strong, fast defensive end that thinks he can man up on the man across from him. If he has a smaller receiver in front of him or he has a smaller lineman in front of him he can use a technique called the bull rush. It's pretty much what it sounds like. If you're going to bull rush somebody you're going to try to just run over him. He's going to try to fire off and he's going to try to get all the momentum going in his direction. He wants to stay lower than the man across from him in order to make this bull rush happen. He also wants to remember to stay to the outside. Remember, the defensive end's job is always outside containment. So, we don't want him to try to bull rush to the inside. We want him to bull rush to the outside. The other important thing is to keep your arms and your legs moving, everything going in a positive direction and that direction is to go right through this guy. First of all, let's show you what this looks like at full speed (video demo). All he wants to do is try to get up, engage this guy, get a good pop and get his momentum moving backward and then rush right on through."
