"Hi, this is Sean Hobson, and what we're working on right now is with our shooting guards. The shooting guards typically are going to have to at some point in time when the offense breaks down; these guys are going to have to be able to create shots for themselves. Now when they create shots for themselves that can come in many different forms, one way is for this guy, if he wants to create a shot, he can give me a pass, and he can cut quick, or he can relocate to get himself open for me to give a pass back. It may just be as much as showing to the middle and then popping outside to create a shot. What we're going to show you a little bit right now is, when he puts the ball on the floor and creating shots. What he wants to try to do, if he's got a defender on him, he wants to either try to get me to go hard to the right or hard to the left, or he wants me, maybe he's going to dribble straight at me, and get me to backpedal as a defender, and then he's going to pull up a shot. So, we're going to show you just on a walk through. Take me hard to the right, show what it looks like to dribble into a shot. Takes me hard to the right, gets me off balance, now he's going to come back to the left using a crossover dribble for his shot. Or, he can dribble me all the way to the wing, go ahead, and dribble me all the way to the wing. Now, cut it back hard, and then he's going to be open for a shot. These guys have got to be able to create shots for themselves if they're going to be your shooting guard. So, you find which way works best for you, but you've got to learn how to sometimes, when the offense breaks down, to create a shot for yourself."
