"Hi, this is Sean Hobson, and what we're talking about right now is working with our shooting guards. And since our shooting guards are the main person that we want in our offense to try to get the ball and to shoot the ball, we've got to make sure they understand that when they catch the ball, they have to be ready to shoot, ready to pass, ready to do something. They can't just catch the ball up top and be straight up and down holding the ball, because that's in no position for them to help us out in our offense. So what we're going to work on right now is once our shooting guard sets up off the V cut here, he's going to pop to the top--go ahead, V cut--he's going to come up to the top of the key. When he catches it, you see how quickly he catches the ball, he gets that ball to the shooting pocket, and it?s ready. Now, he's going to read the defense. If the defense pops out on him, he may have time to get a shot off. He may want to shot fake and drive. He can do a lot of things from this position--we call this our 3D position, or our ready position. If he catches the ball, gets himself good and balanced, ready with that ball in the shooting pocket, he's going to be very dangerous. That's what we want all of our shooting guards to be able to do."
