"Hi this is Sean Hobson and right now we are working with our shooting guards. One of the main things that a shooting guard has got to do before he shoots the ball is he had got to get open. And he's not only getting open just to receive the pass. We really want this guy to get open enough that he can get a good shoot off. After all, that's why he's our shooting guard. So the first thing that we are going to show you right here is this guy getting open based on a cut and what we mean on a cut is he can either fake a cut to the middle of the floor like he's cutting back to the middle of the floor and then pop out for a shot. Or he can V cut which means that he's going to fake like he's going baseline and then he is going to get his defender to come down and then he is going to pop back out for a shot and that is what these two cuts look like. We will show them at full speed. Go ahead and middle cut first. Going to cut to the middle now he is going to return and get himself self set for the shot and that is a V cut to the baseline. The last cut is probably the best cut and that is what we use in our offense. And that is getting a good screen to seal for this guy. To get him open for his shot. So when our screener comes down the it's the main thing, his job is to get his defender to walk himself down. If I'm playing defense on him. We want this guy to be walking down. Now come off tight off the screen. His defender going to turn around and run right in to the screen. Now this guy is wide open he is going to get to pass. He is going to ready to bust the shoot and that is a couple of ways that we can get our shooting guard open in the offense."
