"Hi, this is Sean Hobson. What we're talking about right now is making our point guard aware, of on the floor, of getting the ball up against the offense. The best way that an offense can beat a defense is not to allow the defense to ever get set up. The quicker we can get the outlet and the quicker we can get the point guard to bring the ball up and get into an offense, the better we're going to be. That keeps their defense from running down the floor, getting set in their positions, then it's going to make it a lot harder for our offense to attack. What we want to do, first of all, is something we talked about earlier called the outlet. That's the very first part of it. We?re going to walk through the outlet real quick. Ok, Stop. Once he gets the ball on the outlet. You see what Hunter did. He caught the ball at the side with his back hand. Once he catches the ball, he wants to pivot to the inside and face up the floor. We don't want this guy to catch the ball and stand like this because his back is now to the offense. We want him to face up and see what's happening. That way he can look up and he can see. If there's defenders down here he knows we can beat them down the floor. If he sees a defender coming up to attack him, he knows where to go. He can read that defender and he can either dribble the ball to the inside or dribble the ball to the outside. After he faces up, we want him to stay low, put the ball down, and get the ball up the floor as quick as he possibly can, in order for us to attack their defense as quick as we can. It's very, very important for him to face up, square up, and dribble the ball up the floor as fast as possible."
