"SAL COLLURA: So, Wednesdays I like to think of as a steady day. Go out, maybe do three hours and do it at between 75% and 90% maybe of your possible output. So, you're not going exceptionally hard but you're not going easy, and what this will do is let you be in that training state longer. If I go out 100%, I'm not even going to last for three hours. So what you're doing is ratcheting that down to a level where you can sustain it and you're getting again. This is like the base miles of your week. You're getting that three-hour session of just constant, and you can have some rollers in there, go up-and-down a few hills, but the more constant the workout is, the better in my opinion. And, again, that's a day when nutrition is important because if you're riding for three hours, you're going to need to replace some of those calories and we'll talk about that later, but Wednesday should be your steady three-hour day."
