"Hi this is Ryan Tapp on behalf of Expert Village, and this is shooting a basketball. This section is basic shots. A set shot: Your basic kind of shot is a set shot. If you know how to set your body up, then you're ready to begin shooting a set shot. A set shot doesn't require anything special, just what we've talked about, the basics. Setting your lower body up and your upper body up, okay?. So, once you do that, a set shot is just that...it's going through the motions. You don't have to jump, it doesn't involve moving, it just involves facing the basketball hoop, straight up and down. A set shot can be made anywhere on the court. Now whether you're going to jump or not - in a set shot you're not jumping - you still want to make sure to bend your knees, okay?. You want to bend your body down so that you'll have a little bit of push on the shot. That will be able to get you a little closer to the hoop. It'll make the shot a little more fluid for you. The most basic kind of set shots are foul shots, and we'll talk a little more about those later."
