"Hi, this is Ryan Tapp on behalf of Expert Village. This section is called setting up for a shot. Specifically, we are going to talk about your lower body. Before you start getting into taking a shot with a basketball, you need to know what you are doing. You need to make sure that the fundamentals of your shot are down and that they are right, because if your fundamentals aren't down and your not shooting right and your not setting up the best way that you can, everything after that is going to go wrong. So, we are going to start with the lower half of your body. First, with your feet, you're going to want to make sure that your feet when setting up for a shot, that they're square. Make sure that your shooting foot, the foot that coordinates with the hand that you shoot with, if your right handed that your shooting foot is going to be your right foot. Make sure that your shooting foot is just a little in front of your back foot, okay. Maybe a couple of inches, make sure that they are shoulder width apart, make sure that they are firm and steady. So, after your feet are set and they're planted, you're going to want to make sure that your legs, that they are set as well. The best way, the best set for your legs to be in when shooting a basketball, is you want to be in a position where you can bend your knees slightly. Also, you're going to want to make sure that your hip, that they're centered, you want to always be facing the front of the rim when taking a shot. You want your center of gravity to be right. Straight, square facing the basketball rim at all times. "
