"Hi, my name is Ryder Mackey, and I'm here today with Expert Village. I'm going to talk to you about safety, and what you need to be safe while you're skateboarding. You're going to need elbow pads, to protect your elbows when you fall, so that you can slide on them, to catch your fall. Knee pads, also slide on your knees, when you're falling, will protect you. And, most importantly a helmet, to protect your head when you're falling, so that you don't hit your head on the ground. And, some people will tell you that pads, helmets, are not cool. And, I strongly disagree, because, it's not too cool laying in a hospital bed, either. So, I'd much rather be out having fun, taking falls like nothing, than looking cool. In my city where I live in, Burbank, there's at least four people a year that die from skateboarding-related injuries. I'm sure the population of them are, head injuries from wearing no helmet. Some of them are not looking for cars, when you cross a street or coming off of a stair set, riding on the sidewalk and going into the street. So, always use your head, be careful, watch where you're going with the skateboard, make sure you wear your safety equipment. Some people when they wear their helmet, they wear it just for the law, but they still want to try to look cool by unbuckling it to act like they don't need it. Something like that. But you always want to make sure to be safe, that it's buckled up and that the strap is tight against your chin, so that it's not going to fly back, and you're not going to hit your head on the ground anyways."
