"Hi my name is Ryder Mackey and I'm here today with Expert Village, and I'm going to talk to about what you want to look for in a skateboard deck. You go to your local skateboard shop and find a skateboard at any skateboard shop. Um pretty much you want to find the skateboard deck that's the right size for you, um if you?re a little bit smaller more of a teenager like I am, you might want to buy a 7.5 size and width, 32 inch length. And if you?re an adult bigger size more weight you might want to buy an 8.0 in width, and a 32 inch also in length. Um you also if you?re going to be doing a lot of flip tricks or any kind of skateboard tricks you want to look for a lot of curve on the skateboard deck, on the side and the nose and the tail. A lot of curve helps you flip it, ollie higher, it's just very good. Another thing you want to look for is the weight of the skateboard deck you don't want it to be too heavy, because it's not going to pop in the air very high. Um also on a skateboard deck, your going to get it grip tapped, some skateboard shops will do that for free, some will charge you just a little bit. But no matter what kind of deck you have it's not good without grip tape, cause that is what will get the skateboard up in the air when you drag your front foot along it. Another very important thing you want to remember when putting on your trucks to your skateboard is uh you want the bolt side of the trucks facing inward towards the skateboard. On both of them, so you want the both inside of the trucks facing each other. No matter what no exceptions, cause if one or both are facing on the outside of each other your skateboard is going to turn in the opposite direction that you lead. Causing you to fall or serious injury, so always make sure most important thing when putting on your trucks on your skateboard deck keep them inside facing each other from the bolt."
