How to Put a Saddle Blanket on a Horse

" Hi my name is Sarah Stetner. I'm an expert horse rider on behalf of Expert Village. We are still preparing to ride the horse. So I'm putting a saddle on him. I've just showed you how to bridle him, so now I'm going to saddle him. This is a saddle blanket, or a saddle pad is what I use it for. For every saddle you need a pad and a blanket. This is a pretty thick blanket, so I'm just going to use it as a pad because you need padding on the backbone of the horse. If there is not proper padding, it is going to rub right here and it is going to cause a sore known as a saddle sore for a horse. So this is a pretty thick blanket, I'm just going to use it for a pad too. What you do, you want it all even, you want it a little bit over the withers, and you want it evenly on the side, kind of like your sheets on a bed, and then you come over here on this side and make sure that it is even, which it is not you can see it is a little longer. So you kind of want to make it even. Just like that. You want to double check again. That is about right. Now I'm going to put a saddle on after making sure that this is all even. You want to make sure it is even on this part too. That it is about right here on this side, which is about there on that side as well."
