Summary: Learn the proper Western Equitation form for jogging a horse - free horseback riding lesson on video.
" My name is Sarah Stetner; I'm an expert horse rider on behalf of Expert Village. What I'm going to show you to do in this segment is to jog your horse with the proper form me having my equitation and Rowdy having his head perfectly. So I ask him to jog. Ease. Get that nice slow jog. My head is up because I'm trying to look where I'm going. You always want weight in your heels because if not I'm going to take the weight out of my leg right here and it is going to be all moving around. You want your weight and your heels to keep a study leg. We are going to do a circle around here so you could see what I'm talking about. Notice how his head stays how I want it to. Level with a little tip on the nose. This is how equitation is suppose to look. Notice this straight line right here coming down from again the ear, the shoulder, to the hip, all the way down to the back of my heel. My elbows are in they are not flopping around like this. You want in and condense to your side but you Don't want to be like chicken like this either that is way to much. You kind of want your elbows just a little bit loose. So this is how you jog with the proper form with both the horse and the rider."
