Doing the Figure 8: Free Horseback Riding Lessons

" Hi my name is Sarah Stetner I'm an expert horse rider on behalf of Expert Village. In this video or in this segment I'm just going to show you how to go ahead and show you how to do a figure 8 at the jog. So it is really easy but you do want to keep riding even circles and just go ahead and ask the horse to jog. I'm going to come up the middle here and this is were I would start and I turn my head so I am using the whole arena. Judges do have you do this at the jog and at the canter as well. The canter you do switch leads in the middle. So you just make a nice even easy circle. A nice figure 8 you want the circles as big as you can get them. You always want to come back at the same spot in the middle. Holt. Then you stop when you are done. This is just one of the basic patterns that is use in showing."
