" Ron Colby, Gary Yamamoto Custom Baits. Drop shotting, you’ve got different ways to rig the hook, but you want to do when you’re rigging your bait is to give it the very most action possible. Very simple thing. We’re using a Yamamoto cut tail; this is a 5 inch right now. We’re just going to very simply just want to nose hook it. You can nose hook it through this and feed it up onto the hook. This keeps it up there a little bit more than that, but it gets the most action, so you get a lot of sway and a lot of movement out of the bait as you come back just 4 or 5 ribs from the nose. Just hook it in that way, that way this bait can swivel all the way around. If there’s current, you’re fishing this bait in current like a grub in a river or something like that. You’ve got the grub tail out here like this and the current is pushing it, that tail’s just flapping around and this looks just like a little baitfish just moving and it can’t really move. Give it a lot of action, it could do a lot of different things and hopefully it’ll get you more fish in the boat. "
