Video Transcript

"On behalf of expertvillage.com, my name is Ron Gotlin I’m the lead instructor at the Biscayne Park Aikido Club in Biscayne Park, Florida, today we’re going to do a demonstration for self defense for women. This technique will involve the bad guy attacking the female from the rear but this time he will grab her underneath the arms, this is probably the most dangerous of all because her hearts space, her side, her ribs, everything is exposed when he has his hands under her arms so she must escape fairly quickly and what it’ll look like is this, as Ellen turns to face that direction James will come behind her so he drops her center, let go, let go to all her distracters and make separation. That’s critical is the loud verbals and also critical is making separation, once you’ve broken the hole is to get as far as you can from the subject, a good distance to think of is 6 to 9 feet, 6 to 9 feet gives you an opportunity to get away."
