Ron Gotlin with Biscayne Park Aikido Club in Biscayne Park, Florida. I am the head sensei and lead instructor. Today what we are going to demonstrate is called Hiza Garuma. The Japanese word for elbow is Hiza and Japanese word or wheel is Garuma. So this throw attacks the elbow and the person is thrown into a wheeling direction. Walking through it real slowly what is going to happen is that I get off half the line and this time I attack his elbow and his wrists and turn him into a circle and he would fall in a Garuma fashion making a wheel. In real time, it looks like so. Again, supporting his weight, so that we can protect our partner. The technique done from this direction looks like this fashion and support his weight again. This is called Hiza Garuma elbow throw. Thank you. We will be right back.
