on 8/2/2008 First of all I have no clue why his uke fell to the ground. she did not get him off balance enough to throw him. Secondly the verbals are only to empower yourself and not to get others to come to your aid. Most people will not want to get involved. How many times have you heard a car alarm going off and not even get a single person to look at it.

"My name is Ron Gotlin I’m the lead instructor at the Biscayne Park Aikido Club in Biscayne Park, Florida, today we’re going to do a demonstration for self defense for women. Okay this technique involves when the subject comes up the female and grabs her by one hand instead of grabbing by two hands and as the subject approaches and grabs the subject female by one hand this is what it’s going to look like. As James approaches grabs Ellen by one hand, she pushes to the outside and attacks his face…very important that the attack be made to the face, in real time what would happen as the attack happen, let go, let go and Ellen would use her verbal. The reason for the verbal is to let somebody know, there maybe somebody close by that’ll realize that she’s in derest and come to her aid to realize that this is not something two people that know each other just having some kind of argument that she’s really having a problem."
