One of the quickest ways to get into trouble is to be in a no-fire zone on a paintball field, without one of these in your weapon. This bright orange barrel plug let's everyone know in an instant that your weapon is safe, and incapable of injuring someone. Nowadays, you see fewer of these. Most of the Pros now use the barrel what's called a barrel condom, or a barrel sock, and this serves the same purpose. It only blocks the barrel, so that if it were to be accidentally discharged, no one could get hurt. I will say that if you if you use one of these, make sure that you put it in your pocket, or you'll be like me, and you'll lose three of them in about a month. But beyond that, you just have to remember that beyond your mask, the barrel condom, or the barrel plug is essential to maintaining safety on the paintball field, and if you're out of bounds on it, the Ref will call you for it."
