"So when you're taking a direct free kick, there's a couple of factors you want to take into account. How do you want to kick the ball? Well, it depends on how close you are, what angle you are. If you're close up to the goal, power is not going to help you as much as finesse in aiming. So when I talk about finesse, I'm just talking about putting the ball exactly where you want to put it--placement. So when you take a shot with finesse, it's more like you're passing it into the space. So if I want to go far post, it's more like a lob. It's not a power shot."
